SCULPTURAL INSTRUMENTS

We developed a number of Sculptural Instruments based on the idea to fathom physical space. They are made of resonating solid materials (metal, glass, paper), and made to sound by modulated feedback-processes – i.e. precise compositions of algorithms – through which a huge range of polyphonic resonances of the materials can be triggered. Due to the physical presence and acoustic quality of the sounding material (emissive characteristics, great diversity of non-gestural sounds) the instruments interact closely with the surrounding (resonance) space and thus emphasize its forms and materials.

"In one word: fascinating! ..."
