In this conversion of a 17th-century storage building into a cultural facility including a restaurant, it was a special challenge to ensure a pleasant atmosphere and good acoustics in the dining area, despite a partly open kitchen being located beneath the same vault. Measures had to be found that would leave the building´s structures untouched and visible, and solutions had to be economical. Thus we analysed all new elements designed by the architect as to their acoustical effects and cooperated with him in optimising them accordingly.
