Our basic research includes, among others, field research projects; for example in Paris, where we investigated 16 different urban areas over a period of 3 months in 2004, to find out more about the interrelations between different building forms of places, their acoustics, and the ways these places are used. Based on such extensive investigations we have developed new principles and methods of Acoustic Design that follow a multi-layer approach to urban design.
